Saturday Morning Problem Solving Classes

The Mathematical Association of South Australia is keen to promote mathematics to school students in South Australia and is pleased to offer the Saturday Morning Problem Solving program held on several Saturdays in each year.  This opportunity is designed for highly motivated students in Years 5 to 11 who are interested in developing their problem-solving skills in Mathematics beyond the school curriculum. Students will be challenged to think more deeply about problems and gain practice in competition type questions.

The program was developed by Keith Hamann, and currently led by Michael Bammann, John Leydon, David Billett, and Sharon Kennare.

LOCATION

Sessions will be held at: MASA Office, Building D, 80 Payneham Road, Stepney.

CLASS INFORMATION

Saturday Morning Problem Solving Classes run  during school terms where students in Year 5 through to Year 11 are eligible to attend.

The sessions start at 9.30am and finish at 12.30pm. Rates are $11.00 (inc GST) per participant, and attendance registrations must be made by parents or guardians.

Students may attend Saturday morning problem solving sessions for part of the time between 9.30am and 12.30pm, although please be advised that full session charges apply.   

Please also note that attending students are required to bring their own mathematical tools (calculator, pens, writing book, etc.) to the sessions.
