For a special Maths Book Club, we have had a high demand for this session, to support teachers to design and implement thinking tasks that promote mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and communication

This session is based on the book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics by Dr. Peter Liljedahl, which provides a framework of 14 research-based practices for building a culture of thinking in Maths classrooms. The session will be interactive and hands-on, as you will try new thinking tasks, discuss ways to implement them, and learn how to create your own. You will also have the opportunity to network with other Maths teachers who share your passion and enthusiasm for Maths education.

This professional learning session is recommended for teachers who have read the Building Thinking Classrooms book and are keen to implement the strategies in their classroom. Teachers may already be using some of these strategies or just curious to test them out in 2024.

Don’t miss this chance to enhance your professional development and transform your Maths teaching practice. Join us for the Building Thinking Classrooms professional learning session and be part of a community that is forming around these impactful practices.
