Over the past few years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Learning Analytics have become increasingly popular topics of discussion in the field of education. These technologies present exciting possibilities for enhancing student learning outcomes, especially in terms of competency development. They aim to ensure that every child possesses the necessary skills to succeed in the future. In this workshop, we will delve into how AI and data analytics can support student growth in mathematics. Additionally, we will also consider the ethical implications of using AI and data analytics in education, particularly regarding equity, bias and privacy. Lastly, we will examine the challenges and limitations of these technologies and explore ways to incorporate the student voice to further support their learning and mathematical development.
