These full-day workshops are aimed at teachers wanting to further their professional development and understanding across SACE Mathematical Methods and Specialist Maths at either Stage 1 / Stage 2 levels.  Each full day workshop will cover content connected with Mathematical Methods and Specialist Maths.

Teaching Stage 1 Mathematical Methods / Specialist Maths Workshop

VENUE: MASA – Building D, 80 Payneham Rd STEPNEY

  • MASA Pre-Service Members – $66 + GST per person
  • Non-Members – $220 + GST per Person

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

In this full day workshop Deb will provide opportunity for the group to:

  •  Look at the Stage 1 topics 1 – 12 which lead to Stage 2 Methods and Stage 2 Specialist
  • Explore the development of SATs at Stage 1 – looking at complex and routine balance
  • Consider the creation and use of Investigations – getting the reasoning and communication going ready for Stage 2 / year 12
  • Review the use of Graphics Calculator and technology

  • Support the group to explore topic by topic tips and guidance for both subjects.
  • Explore SAT preparation – getting the balance 
  • Consider Exam preparation for students and the development of thinking skills 2.
  • Provide practical strategies to enhance teaching and the opportunity for collaborative discussion
